Peckforton Castle Wedding

It’s fantastic for a Manchester wedding photographer to photograph such a wedding day!  It started off at Peckforton Castle near Tarporley, were the bride Ruth and her bridesmaid were getting ready when I arrived about 2 hours before the wedding ceremony which was taking place at St Helens Church, Tarporley.   If you’ve not been it’s a beautiful quaint village and has won various awards over the years.  The rooms at Peckforton are a decent size but by the time you have the bride 3 bridesmaids, makeup artist, hairdresser, dad in and out and me, it gets a bit crowded, but I think it all added to the atmosphere.

When I’d captured the preparation shots I headed off to the church to photograph the bridegroom Ben. He had two best men, his brother and a friend; Having two best men seems to becoming more popular over recent years. Everyone was relaxed and having fun.  Ruth arrived at the church looking absolutely stunning, as she approached the church doorway I could tell she was getting nervous, but once in the church she relaxed. The was lots laughter during the service. Wedding service over, we all headed back to Peckforton Castle for the reception. Peckforton castle is a great venue with lots of space inside and out and lots of places to get good photographs. We wandered round various parts of the castle for about 20 minutes taking lots of photographs as we went.  Ruth and Ben chose to have a signed image, this is were I invite the guests to leave a message on mount board around a photo from the pre-wedding shoot which is then framed up. see past blog

Speaches were very funny and at Ben’s expense as you can see by the guest’s reactions on the photographs, the speaches are a great time to get real candid moments.  The first dance went well, photographed against the Gothic background of the great hall at Peckforton Castle.

I’m behind with my blogging at the moment been really busy, so Ruth and Ben have already seen and designed their album with me.  They went for the beautiful stylish Queensberry Duo Album. The design takes about 4 hours – quite a long time but worth it – and it was really nice for Ruth to say she wished looking at the photographs would go on forever. I will be posting the designed album online in the near future so keep logging on.
