What is all day coverage?

It is usually from getting ready to the first dance but it’s up to you, I will do my best to accommodate.

How many photographs do you take?

There is no limit to the amount of photographs taken, but I normally take about 1000 edited down to about 600. Couples usually edit them down to 300. We then design about 100 to 150 into the final album.

Do you include a disc I can print from?

Yes, there will be about 300 print ready hi-resolution files for you to print from. I will also upload all the photographs to to my website, so family and friends can view them. These are ready to view after the wedding album design, if the album is included, if it is disc only coverage usually 2 weeks after the wedding date.

Will it be you who take the photographs?

Yes I don’t use any freelance photographers, you booked me, you get me. I limit the amount of weddings to 30 a year so I can give all my attention to you.

Can I have more than one photographer?

Yes I have many like-minded photographers I can call on. There is an additional charge, so please ask for a quotation. All the work you see on my website is shot by me and I prefer to work alone as another photographer can hinder the smoothness of the day.

What if you are ill?

As I have mentioned above I have a large group of like-minded photographers that I can call on at short notice.

Are you insured?

Yes I have public liability and professional indeminity insurance. But it is also advisable to take out your own wedding insurance. It normally costs about £70 and covers most eventualities.

Who designs the album?

The choice is yours, some couples love to design the album with me, it means they are able to be involved with every decision from editing photos to the way they will sit together on the page. Couples can also call on my advice over photographic choice and layout; the process can take between 4 and 5 hours. I print all the photographs up in advance so when designing we are handling real photographs not virtual ones on a computer.

This part of the process is also good for me because it gives me a good idea of what couples really want on their wedding day, so I can carry this knowledge on to the next wedding.

If you decide you would rather leave it to me to design your album, I can supply you with a disc of all images from which you can choose. I will then send you a proof for you to confirm or make any changes.

When will I receive the album?

Between six and eight weeks from your confirmation of the proof.

Do I have a choice of album style?

Yes, the choice of album style is vast. I use what I class and most of the wedding photography profession regard as the best wedding albums in the world – Queensberry Albums. They are all bespoke from size, shape, cover material, paper, matt or glossy, edging style, photo covers, blind embossed, duo pages the list goes on, but don’t worry I can show you your options with my dislplay albums.

What album is included in your basic coverage?

I would rather not call it basic, as the album I include looks fantastic! It is quite contemporary, has a feel of a hardback book and some couples really prefer it to the more traditional wedding album.

How much extra cost If I want to upgrade my album?

Hmm.. “How long is a peace of string?” This is always a difficult question to answer. I have had couples spend from £1200 to £12000 and both have been delighted with the results. The cost is about what you are comfortable with.

Do we meet before the wedding day?

Yes this is a very important part of my service, it’s a chance to get to know each other and you can tell me your likes and dislikes and the logistics of the day. I pride myself on being able to fit in to whatever is needed on a tight schedule. If I think the time is tight I will guide you on ways round this without wasting time. Some weddings have lots of time to spare this can also create difficulties, but again I can guide you through any of these. The wedding photographer is unique, the only person that is with you throughout the whole day, and as I have photographed over 1,200 weddings in my career so far I have a lot of knowlege to draw on. When couples come to me at the pre-wedding consultation they start to get excited, and as we talk, it starts to bring the big day to life!

Do you check the venues out?

I tend not to because I like a place to be fresh on the day. You will never get the same conditions when you check the venue out as you do on the actual day of the wedding. I used to in the early days of my career, but don’t get me wrong, If you wanted to meet there for a chat about your day its not a problem, I can accommodate you.

Do you charge for travel?

Only when it is more than a hour from my studio the rate is then 50p a mile thereafter.

Will you travel abroad?

Yes I have traveled all round the world to shoot weddings the costing is the same, as long as you cover my travel, accommodation and food.

Are your prices inclusive of VAT?

Do you have small duplicate albums and Parents albums?

Yes they come in various sizes and styles please ask for details.

Do you do a signed framed image for the guests to sign instead of a guest book?

Yes, I will invite your guests to sign it so you have no need to ask one of your guests to do it. At the album design stage you can choose one of you favourite images to go in it. Cost for this is only £150 and includes a frame.

Can you supply me with framed wall portraits?

Yes, just ask for details I have a large selection of presentations, to suit all homes.

What preparation do you make before the day to reduce any potential problems?

I always have backup equipment. I have sat nav and a RAC print out (just in case!!). Depending on the distance to travel I leave about half hour early, If it is more than 3 hours travel I normally arrange accommodation and arrive the evening before.

Do you require feeding?

This would be up to you, there are reasons for and against. It can be a long day for the photographer and its nice to have at least one hot meal during what can sometimes be a 10 to 14 hour day, if you include the travel. I am happy If I can get some bar food but this is not always possible if you’re at a Manor house in the middle of the country half an hour away from anywhere. Sometimes the catering staff will sort something out but this is something you will need to make clear to everyone. Some couples sit the photographer with their guests at a table. I am afraid there is no definitive answer only what you feel comfortable with.

How do you dress on the day?

Suit, shirt and tie I want to fit in with the guests as much as possible this helps me get those more natural shots.

Do you retouch the photographs?

Generally there should be no reason to. I have a wealth of knowledge of using good lighting techniques – taking away the need to retouch or enhance the photographs. The photographs are colour corrected and print ready. The album prints can be enhanced if required, for example If there are obvious marks on the skin. These kind of corrections can be dealt with at the album design stage.

How do I book?

There is a booking fee deposit of £350 to pay and a booking form to sign. Your day is then booked. I will write to you 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding day and arrange for us to meet up to chat about your day.

What If I cancel the wedding?

You will lose the booking fee If you cancel up to 6 months before the wedding date, less than 6 months the full amount is payable. It is advisable to take some insurance out to cover any problems that might occur.

When is the balance due?

6 weeks before your wedding date.

Can I pay each month to spread the payments?

Yes no problem just call me as and when you feel.

Can family and friends pay towards the photography If I want to upgrade my coverage?

Of course they can. I can also create a gift list for you or they can buy my Gift vouchers via the website.
